Hamptons Weekend

Scotty and I

So, the one and only time I made it out to the Hamptons this summer, Hurricane Danny decided to hit Long Island and have it downpour and be overcast the whole time. Which in the long run was probably better for my very fair skin. Dee and I headed out there with my friend, Scotty to stay at a house he rents. On Saturday, in the mist of the torrential rain, we decided to go to the Day & Night party, which is a brunch that just keeps going on into the evening. The party just keeps going on and on! After we got done with brunch, we just danced around and watched the dancers that were hired for some guy's birthday. When Scotty turned to me and said, "Look who's sitting at our table! Go get a picture with him!" It was Russell Simmons! He was super nice and didn't mind taking a picture with a little Nebraska country girl. All in all, it was a great fun weekend, even if it rained the whole time.

My Twin?!?!?

For about the past year, I haven't been able to walk into a club, a restaurant or even a bowling alley without having someone think that I am Madeline Zima, the girl off of Californication on Showtime (and The Nanny back in the day.) I didn't used to see the resemblance at all, but I guess our face shape is the same and we both have high cheek bones, along with brown hair. It amazes me how men are normally the ones that notice the similarities that Madeline and I share. I didn't quite understand this in the beginning, but then I watched the first few episodes of the show. Needless to say, I sure hope that no one thinks I act like her character on the show....
So, what do you think?? Is she my twin??

New obsession for a few months now... :)

I have had these shoes for a few months now and I wear them EVERYWHERE!! They are so stylish and sleek. I can look like a rocker chick or just look like a fashionista. I have even just thrown them in my bag, just in case I go out, and I was wearing jean shorts and a tee shirt... P.S. I did go out that night! HEHE! My favorite pair of shoes!!... At least this for the past few months. :)

Alberta Ferretti Dress

This is the dress I wore to Eric and Kim's wedding. The one that my great friends at Alberta Ferretti let me borrow. It was such a beautiful wedding!

Alberta Ferretti Showroom

First off, I'd like to say sorry for not posting in quite awhile. I got very busy with work and personal engagements AND almost got back together with an ex.... (didn't happen *Thank Goodness!* and no I don't want to talk about.)

Let me tell you about the work I got busy with. I booked most of Alberta Ferretti's showroom market. A showroom is where the designer sells the collection to stores. They were very long days of being in high heels the whole time, but I loved the people I worked with (the interns were wonderful!!) and the collection was beautiful!!! I actually have a dress picked out that I'm going to have to buy!! Yes, it was that amazing! :)

This one day I worked a 12 hour day and only sat down for a total of 15 minutes! People can't say that models have it easy all the time. Yes, we do have several great perks to our job, but it's definitely not as glamorous as everyone thinks.

On a happy note/perk. I got to borrow a dress from them for Eric and Kim's (2 of my very close friends here on the east coast) wedding. It's this Saturday and I can't wait!!! Pictures to follow.... :)

(I attached a couple of my favorite outfits from Alberta Ferretti and Alberta Ferretti Philosophy Collections. But I couldn't find a picture of my favorite dress, that I will probably buy.)

Happy Father's Day!!!

He is one of my rocks that keeps me grounded. If it wasn't for him (and my Mom of course) I could have maybe lost myself here in the city. Thanks so much for always being there for me! Love you so much!!!

Just a little about me...

Hi All!

I just thought I would give you a little background about myself before I start putting up my VERY random thoughts.

I grew up on a ranch near a small town of 2,000 in Nebraska. I was as country as you can get. I rode horses, went hunting with my Dad, etc. I used to joke around about one day being a model, cause I was always tall and skinny (5'11"/120). When I was a sophomore in high school, my sister heard on the radio about how they were holding castings for Barbizon, a modeling school in a town about an hour away from us. So, my sister and my Mom took me to the casting. I got in and did the schooling, graduated. I then decided that I wanted to focus on my sports instead and get a scholarship.

I ended up getting scholarships for track (high jump) and volleyball. I went to UNK (University of Nebraska at Kearney) for track. College just wasn't for me, at least then. I got contacted by Barbizon to try out for a competition in New York City. I made it into the modeling competition and ended up doing very well. I got an agency here in NYC and moved. The competition was in July 2006 and I moved out here in October 2006. I've lived here since then and been loving every minute of it! New York is amazing!!

That's just a little background on me. :)
